Where: DeKalb Fire Station

 

You must log onto the DEC Website to register for the course.

You can either download the workbook or pick one up at the DeKalb Town Clerk’s office, located at 2907 County Route 17 DeKalb (M, W, F 8am-5pm or Tues & Thursday noon-6pm).

The workbook must be completed prior to attending the class.

There will be a 1 hour lunch break, bringing a bagged lunch is encouraged.

The class is open to anyone 11 years and up.

There is no cost for the course.

DeKalb Upgrades Water & Sewer Billing for the Junction

The DeKalb Town Board, has passed a resolution to purchase new software for the Water & Sewer billing.  To make a smooth transition, please complete the requested information below.  Do include your email address and cell phone numbers.  By including this information, the clerk will be able to quickly update you if there are any water or sewer emergency events.

With the new system, you will be able to pay your bill on line with a credit/debit card by direct payment.  More information will be after the program has been installed.  Of course, you will still be able to pay as you have in the past. 

Failure to provide requested information may result in misinformation transferred to new billing program

SPRING CLEANUP TIME !
April 11, 2017

Time for spring cleaning.  Got that old couch or chair you want to get rid of?  Bring it to the DeKalb Barn, located at 2810 State Highway 812.

You can bring old household appliances, furniture, old lumber, etc., on May 18th all day or May 20th until noon.  Household garbage, oil based paints, latex paint, chemicals, and the like, are not accepted.  Please limit tires to 2 and they must be off the rims.  This is open to all residents of the Town of DeKalb.

 

 

Get ready for spring.  If you live on the north side of US Highway 11, it is time to haul that unwanted stuff to the curb.  The highway crew will be making rounds, on May 22nd, to pick up your junk.  There will only be one trip made on each road, so be sure you have it curbside by

6 am on that day.  Pick up items include appliances, furniture, electronics, old lumber, etc.  Tires will be a maximum of 2 and they must be off the rims.

No oil based or latex paints, chemicals or household garbage.

 The Richville Volunteer Fire Department, held their Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony, March 25, 2017 at the Gouverneur Elks Club.

Firemen honored for years of service are as follows:

Matthew Drake – 20 years

Terry Jenkins – 15 years

Tammy Farr – 5 years

Tammy Jenkins – 5 years

The next time you see one of these special people, thank them for their service to your community.

Tammy Jenkins is this year’s recipient of the, “Fireman of the Year”, award.  Tammy not only serves as a fireman, but is also the Safety Officer, for the department.  When you see Tammy, thank her for a job well done.

                PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the undersigned, the collector of taxes of the

Town of DeKalb, has received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes for the Town of DeKalb for the fiscal year January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

         PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the undersigned will receive the taxes listed on said roll at her office located 2907 County Route 17, Town of DeKalb, St. Lawrence County, New York, during business hours as follows: Monday 8am to 2pm, Tuesday noon to 6pm, Wednesday 8am to 2pm, Thursday noon to 6pm and Friday 8am to 2pm.

 

         PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOICE, that taxes may be paid to the undersigned without interest on or before the thirty-first day of January.  Taxes received after the 30-day penalty free period shall have interest added at the rate of one per cent for each month or fraction thereof until such taxes are paid or until return of unpaid taxes to the County Treasurer pursuant to law.  The date for the return of unpaid taxes to the County Treasurer is June 1, 2017.

Town of DeKalb Offers Options for Tax Payments
February 17, 2016

The Town of DeKalb is now offering you another way to pay your taxes.  You can now pay by credit/debit card.  You can either pay online or in the office.  If you choose to use your card, there will be a small fee that is charged by the company working with the town.  The town does not collect this fee, only the amount for your taxes will be collected by the Town Clerk.

 

You can continue to pay your taxes by check, money order or cash, if you choose.
